Boston Red Sox Relief pitcher Liam Hendrix struggled with a 5-1 defeat to the New York Mets at Fenway Park on Wednesday.
Hendrix, 36, was charged with loss after giving up three runs he scored on three hits.

“The threat to my life and my wife’s life is horrifying and cruel. You need help,” Hendrix wrote in his Instagram story.
“It’s disgusting and sleazy to leave a comment telling me to commit suicide and hope that I’ve died of cancer.”
“Maybe you need to take a step back and reassess your life purpose before you can hide behind the screens attacking players and their families.”

Hendrix announced in January 2023 that he was diagnosed with cancer and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The three All-Stars returned to the mound within five months, Chicago White Sox.
However, after just five appearances after returning to the field after a match against cancer, Hendrix needed Tommy John surgery. The Red Sox signed a two-year, $10 million contract in 2024 with his recovery, but Hendrix didn’t pitch last season as he rehabilitated.

Hendrix struggled this season with the Red Sox as he has a 5.56 ERA in 11 games.
Over his 14-year career, Hendrix had a 33-35 record with an ERA of 3.85 and 738 strikeouts pitched in 661.1 career innings.
