Shohei ohtani is officially a dad.
Los Angeles Dodgers“The two-way superstar announced the birth of his first child, a daughter, in a social media post on Saturday. Otani welcomed his wife Tanaka Mura and daughter.
“I am very grateful to my beloved wife who gave birth to our healthy, beautiful daughter,” Otani wrote in the caption. “Thank you to my daughter for making us very nervous and extremely anxious parents.”

Otani also expressed his gratitude to the Dodgers and the healthcare workers for helping them have the baby.

“We can’t wait for a little rookie to join our family any time soon!” the December 28th post said. It included a photo showing the couple’s beloved dog, decoy, pink ruffled onesea and baby shoes and sonograms covered in baby emojis.
The Dodgers left Otani MLB’s father list Before the series opener with the Texas Rangers on Friday night. Manager Dave Roberts said before Saturday’s game he hopes Otani will rejoin the club for the series finale on Sunday.

Otani can miss up to three games during his paternity leave. The Dodgers have a Monday off day and then play Cubs in Chicago on Tuesday.
