Minnesota Twins Icon Joe Mower will be one of the field athletes of the American Century Championship near Lake Tahoe next month.
Mower was tied to 16th last year with one of the best finishes he’s put together over the last few years. He praised Edgewood Tahoe Golf Club In an interview with Fox News Digital, he admitted that he still needs to work on the golf game a bit.

“I’m excited about that,” he said of the tournament. “The last few years have been a great time, bringing out the family was fun, going out in the summer has become a lovely little tradition, and it’s a beautiful place.
“But as far as my golf game is concerned, I could have used a little more work. I enjoy going out there and competing with other great athletes and entertainers,” he continued. “It makes me feel like I’m on a tour there for a few days, and it’s a great atmosphere and a great part of the country.
Mauer is one of the former baseball players who step into the teebox to keep the ball straight for some good shots.

The Baseball Hall of Fame explained that he picked up the sport after moving to Florida when he was selected in the MLB draft and attempted to appear on the course several times a week during his career.
“Now I’m retired, I really enjoy the game,” he said. “I have the opportunity to play a little more. I love the game. Obviously, it’s really challenging, it’s really difficult. But you know, you know, you can’t perfect the game, but you can certainly give it a try.
The American Century Championship festival begins on July 9th and runs until July 13th.
The tournament also raises funds for local and national charities. This event is a 54-hole Stableford format, where golfers earn points for each hole based on their score. The golfer who earns the most points wins.
