The highly anticipated demonstration of Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta’s new AI Glasses was tanked at Connect 2025 Keynote on Wednesday, with glitches unfolding in front of a packed audience.
The device, called the Meta Ray-Ban display, costs $799 and is being marketed as a breakthrough in the wearable “Agent AI,” which features a digital assistant acting on behalf of the user.

One member of the audience, a member of Tech Radar Lance Uranov Zuckerberg’s presentation stated that there were some very big mistakes.
“The AI ​​was clearly confused and flying around,” Ulanoff said.

According to Ulanoff, no other major tech companies have given live presentations.

After a failed attempt, Mankuso denounced the wifi before throwing the segment at Zuckerberg.
The second stumble came during the showcase of neural bands. Zuckerberg successfully sent and received a text from meta CTO Andrew Bosworth.
However, when Bosworth tried to start a WhatsApp video call, the glasses didn’t pick it up.
Zuckerberg groped through the interface before giving up. Bosworth finally walked on stage and joked about “brutal wifi” as the audience laughed.
“You practice these things like a hundred times and then you don’t know what’s going to happen,” Zuckerberg said.

Despite the stage flaws, Zuckerberg framed glasses as jumping forward with AI-powered personal technology.
He emphasized that the device represents a vision for the future meta where wearable AI assistants predict needs and handle tasks with minimal user effort.
“Mark has enthusiasm, so he was willing to take risks, but unfortunately, in some instances, it didn’t go down his path,” Uranov added.
“I’m sure Mark Zuckerberg felt very uncomfortable, but I praise him for keeping him calm and making a joke about it.”
