British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that Markle’s speech at the summit was a way to “reframe her narrative” while taking subtle jabs at the royal family.
“Her comments are once again a not-so-subtle attack on the monarchy’s alleged interpersonal shortcomings.”
“MM [Meghan Markle] is doing her best to reshape her story, once again projecting her independence while subtly venting her past complaints about discomfort within the royal family. “Her comments are not another casual attack on the monarchy’s supposed interpersonal shortcomings,” she said.
Fordwich goes on to say, “Either way she loses. Either she’s unaware of the drilling she’s doing, or it’s premeditated. If she’s not aware, she lacks self-awareness. If it’s intentional, he… The woman reinforces everyone she sees as traitorous and vindictive, especially her inexplicable “nest-building, healing” comments and references to lack of planning, which come across as extremely self-centered and at the same time a rebuke of royal norms, making them even worse. British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard agreed this was Markle’s jab. royal family.
“Meghan is currently in the midst of a PR campaign to promote her brand. She is determined to succeed in building a commercial empire. However, she knows the value of the Royal Family to her brand and will definitely be attached to this precious asset,” he told Fox News Digital.
“By reminding people of the terrible time she had in the royal family and in Britain, she is given an excuse to offend and do whatever she wants with no care in the world,” Chard added. “For Meghan, things are definitely on the upswing.”

“I’ve been thinking exactly this for a long time about Harry and Meghan’s early days in California, so it’s great to hear her say it out loud! Hearing Meghan say ‘there was no plan’ helps put into context many of the decisions the Sussexes made regarding their first business deals with Spotify, Penguin Random House and Netflix.”

Matta continued: “Five years later, these agreements look less like grand strategy and more like a scramble to build post-royal stability. We have to wonder whether setting out a ‘big picture’ vision meant more thoughtful and specific partnerships rather than broad, sweeping, multi-year deals.”
Ms Matta said she did not “interpret” Ms Markle’s comments as a jab at the royal family.
“This sounds like an honest reflection of how difficult it is to reinvent yourself, away from the institutions that dictate every detail of your life. Nesting and healing would have been a priority, but the more material aspects of survival would also be a priority,” she said.

Former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner agrees with Matta’s views.
“The process that Meghan is going through right now is coming to terms with what happened to her. The constant abuse and negativity towards Meghan’s attempts to work and build a life is huge. In my opinion, the comments and motivations for Meghan’s current activities are purely a means of moving forward with Meghan’s life and family,” he told Fox News Digital.
