
Scotty Scheffler picked up where he left off. Master.
Schaeffler, 28, won the Masters in 2022 and 2024, and began his quest to win Major tournaments Strong for the second year in a row on Thursday.
Schaeffler was 1 under par on the par 3 force hole. Schaeffler hit a tee shot in the middle of the green, 60 feet from the hole.

The defending champions were not in the fist position. Schaeffler hammered behind the cup as he climbed the hill at birdie speed.
Birdie went through four holes and placed a 2-under par to start his first round.
At the time of this writing, Schaeffler is 12 holes and 3 under par, second tied to tracking Tyrell Hutton on one stroke.

Schaeffler is about to become the fourth golfer to date to win consecutive masters. Jack Nicklaus won 1965-66 and won Nick Faldo in 1989-90. Tiger Woodsand lastly did that, in 2001-02.
In last year’s victory, Schaeffler joined Horton Smith as the only golfer to win the first two masters victory in less than five starts. Schaeffler never finished outside the top 20 with a five-man master start.

After a historically good 2024 season, Schaeffler has not recorded a victory so far PGA Tour this year. Nevertheless, he has three top 10 finishes. One of them was the second tier in their latest tournament at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
Schaeffler missed several tournaments to start the season due to an unusual hand injury that suffered while preparing for Christmas dinner.
