Deccanbo played the back nine at Augusta National on Tuesday, but about 48 hours before tee time he said he felt his game wasn’t where he needed it.
So he went to range and hit some balls. And a little more.
He mashed 393 balls to be exact.
“I wasn’t there in my iron game and I felt I needed to be a little more accurate,” Deccanbeau said Wednesday. “I went out here and hit a golf ball and even when I hit, I hit a lot – there were a lot – and that’s what makes me feel comfortable, that’s what makes me feel comfortable.
