Blood Merchand For quite some time, he had a potential goal he won in the game – when it was taken away from him, he made up for it.
Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers Marchand’s double overtime goal evenly made the final even out on Friday night, giving the Cats a 5-4 victory in Game 2 against the Edmonton Oilers.
After scoring three goals at the first 12:37 of the game, Edmonton was no longer able to find the back of the net.
In a hopeless mode and 4-3, the Oilers pulled Stuart Skinner out of the net. This had 2:33 left in regulation, but it looked early, but in the packs in the other zones, they had an advantage. And they did.

With 17.8 seconds left, the pack loosened up front, and 40-year-old Corey Perry stuffed it into the house and tied the game with four. After allowing goals on three shots facing three of his first seven shots, Sergei Bovrovsky allowed those who sent the contest into overtime after stopping each of the next 24.
Both teams, especially the Panthers, saved the breakaway by hitting the post with one shot, but both teams had a chance for the Panthers to be blank. Just eight minutes after his second overtime, Merchand did it again, with Skinner screeching one on the breakaway, giving Florida a tremendous victory.

Just like in Game 1, the scores began early. This time the Florida Panthers scored first.

Edmonton took part in the power play and scored again, but Florida responded quickly and tied the game at 2am at 11:37. During another power play, Leon Dry Saitoll scored, giving the Oilers a 3-2 lead, closing five goals in the first 13 minutes of the game.
The Oilers’ offense was the second cooled, but Florida didn’t. Dmitry Kulikov tied the period to 8:23, and Marchand gave Florida the lead four minutes later with a short handed goal. The 4-3 Panthers’ lead was held to a miraculous goal for Perry in the second half of the third.

The Merchand hero was a trade deadline acquisition, almost literally trading in the last few minutes from the previous longtime Boston Bruins. The deal was worth it.
