
A Georgia man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for fraudulent millions of dollars due to the possibility Basketball Hall of Fame.
Three-time defensive player of the year Wight Howard testified in court that he gave Calvin Darden Jr. $7 million, and believes that it is an investment towards the purchase. WNBA’s Atlanta dream.
Eight-time All-Star Howard learned that Darden is not the team’s owner when ESPN reported that the team had been sold to an investor group.

Prosecutors said Darden and the sports agent had told former NBA player Chandler Parsons to send the $1 million that is supposed to help develop James Wiseman, drafted by the Golden State Warriors as the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
However, the two did not know Wiseman, and the players did not agree to be represented by agents, as they argued to Parsons. Wiseman was traded for the Toronto Raptors after playing for the Indiana Pacers last.
A federal court judge in Manhattan on Thursday ordered Darden to confiscate $8 million, earning unfair profits including $600,000 in artwork for the $3.7 million Atlanta House, Jean Michel Basquiat, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.

Darden was convicted in October on a ju apprentice for fraud, bank fraud and money laundering fees.
He was previously sentenced to a year in a federal prison in New York, Cal Darden, a former executive at Atlanta-based United Parcel Services, for failing to bid to buy Maxim Magazine.

The Atlanta dream was once co-owned by former Republican Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, who was pressured to sell after clashing with players against the league’s racial justice initiative.
Howard was the first choice in the 2004 NBA Draft Orlando Magic.
