
College Football Saturday will never look the same again.
Lee Corso, the legendary college football analyst, 89, announced Thursday that he will retire after one final, nearly 40 years away from ESPN. “College Gemedae” It will air later this summer.

“My family and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and College Gemedae for nearly 40 years. I have many friends, my favourite memories and some unusual experiences to retire with me,” he said in a statement provided by ESPN.

“ESPN has been extremely generous to me, especially for the past few years. They accommodated me and supported me.
Corso will officially retire after the final broadcast on “College Gameday” on August 30th. He’s been 90 years since he took stage 1 last.
Corso first joined the network 38 years ago in 1987, but for at least a while the only original on-air personality of “College Gameday” remains. He became a full-time analyst in 1989 and worked with many greats, but in his final goodbye Corso was especially grateful to one.

Corso became known for his popular headgear picks, which began in the game in October 1995. Ohio State, And his popular slogan: “Not too fast, my friend.”
Corso’s tribute was poured online Thursday as the college football community responded to news of his retirement.

“I just wanted to say I love you,” Herbstrate said in a video posted to X.
“You’re an icon,” he added. “You’re a once in a lifetime, once in a lifetime broadcaster.”
