LeBron James“Resignation is coming sooner than it is late, but on Saturday he may have given fans a preview of when it will come.
A 7-second video posted on social media, 4 times MVP You can be seen in front of reporters at a press conference. “Is the retirement rumors true? What’s next?” he asks.
The camera then displays a solo shot of James trying to answer the question before the screen gets dark and ends the video.

“I’ve been asking myself the same question…” James captioned the post with a scrunchie and crown emoji. He used hashtags to tag the video as an ad.
James has just finished his 22nd year in the NBA and shows little signs of slowing down. In his 40-year-old season, he averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds. He has posted triple doubles for this past season. This was most common in 2019-20 when he won his fourth NBA Championship.

He won 21st consecutive All-Star nods, widening the record. After turning 40 on December 30th, James averaged 25.1 points per game.
James became the first NBA player in NBA history to play for the association at the same time that his son, Bronnie James, was drafted. Los Angeles Lakers Last summer, the two played 21 games together.

If James played in 2025-26, it would be his 23rd NBA season and set a new record. He currently shares the record with Vince Carter. He said he hasn’t committed yet and will think about his future after his Los Angeles Lakers are removed from the playoffs.
