She suggested that the referee missed multiple foul calls. Plum’s anxiety seemed to have been exacerbated by her claim that his tendency to go to the basket should guarantee more whistles in her favor.

Certainly “very frustrated” Plum added that she was “talking to refs nice,” and said a prayer “before the game.”

Sparks coach Lynn Roberts’ sentiment was largely consistent with the team’s star players. “The opposing team is allowed to protect her with excessive contact… We have to tell the league about it, but that’s not right.”
Plum jokingly said that if the league decides to issue one, he will “cover” the coach’s spirits.

Monday’s losses drove Sparks’ record to 3-7. Plum faces her previous team Las Vegas Acethe WNBA Commissioner Cup will continue on Wednesday. Plum won two WNBA Championships in his eight years of running with the franchise.
