“Wild Card” host Billy Bush pointed out that Mellencamp maintains her sense of humor throughout her cancer fight, and Richards agreed.
“She’s currently going through some tough days, going through radiation and immunotherapy, but you know, you know Teddy.”
“She’s. She’s very positive… She has these group chats she’s named, and I’m like, ‘Teddi, this…’, you know, she likes to enjoy the situation.

Mellencamp, who has been battling skin cancer since 2022, told the outlet that she is in the battle for her life. However, she said she was determined to remain positive for her family, friends and herself.
“I’m fighting for my life.” Mellencamp told the outlet. “But for the life of my family and for all the people I love.”
In February, after drug therapy became ineffective for migraines and Mellencamp began to feel severe pain, she rushed to the emergency room with her estranged husband, Edwin Aroyabe.

Richards made several calls to take him to the hospital immediately.

“Kyle saved the day,” Mellencamp said. “I think it was within 24 hours that an incredible surgeon was able to remove four tumors from my brain. I didn’t know they were there for six months or a year.

Mellencamp began treatment for radiation and immunotherapy shortly after surgery.
“After I lifted my head, I thought I was feeling how I felt,” she said. “My reaction has always been a headache and that means immunotherapy or radiation is being killed, so it turns out to be good news. Your cancer. ”
