The 53-year-old actress’s medical ordeal began in November 2022 when she tried to welcome guests at her annual Alzheimer’s Disease fundraiser, honoring her late mother, Linda Williams, who died of dementia at the age of 73 in 2016.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Williams-Paisley, who hosts a new season of the real-life dating show “Farmer Wants A Wife,” recalled a horrifying moment during the event where she realized she couldn’t speak.
“It definitely was a dramatic change for me,” said the “Father of the Bride.” “It was very embarrassing. I was about to give a speech and suddenly there was no voice.”

“And the next day, it didn’t come back,” she continued. “And a few weeks later, it hadn’t returned yet, and it sounded very whispering and quiet.
Interviewed in December 2024 People Magazine, Williams Pisley revealed that she had been diagnosed with dysphonia.
Williams Pisley told the outlet he visited Nashville, the Vanderbilt Audio Center in Tennessee in January 2023. The actress was diagnosed with muscle tone dysphagia after the doctor discovered she had partial paralysis of her left vocal cords.

The following year, Williams Pisley struggled with not being able to speak more eloquently than whispers. The actress tried to treat her condition, but her voice never returned.
Williams Pisley told the outlet he has tried both traditional and unorthodox methods, including “antidepressants, invisal ligation braces, vegan diets, hypnotism, even mental scientists.”
Meanwhile, Williams Pisley said she felt her acting career was at risk or potentially forever.

“It’s been a rough road for a few years now and I was trying to find my voice again, so I wasn’t really working in the meantime,” she said in an interview with Fox News Digital.
In August 2024, Williams Pisley received an a 3 hours of laryngoplasty, Meanwhile, the doctor at the voice center placed the implant in her weak left vocal cord to move to the right vocal cord. Williams Pisley regained his ability to speak loudly again shortly after surgery.

Looking back on her experiences, Williams Paley shared her tips for people facing as well Health challenges.
“The advice I give is if that happens, if it’s not just about continuing to drink honey tea, then I actually go see a doctor,” she said. “I didn’t realize I could do what I could.”
She continued, “Surgeries that I got involved, they like once a week. I don’t know how common things I have, but there are things I can.”
“It’s been a rough road for a few years now and I was trying to find my voice again, so I really didn’t work in the meantime.”
Williams Pisley also explained that there is a “silver lining” in her health struggle.
“I’ve grown stronger in so many ways,” she said. “When we face this kind of thing, it helps to lift us up in other parts of our lives, and I’ve worked on ‘What other ways can I use my voice?’ And then I started writing, I did a lot of journals, I got strong, I started lifting weights, and there was all these silver linings that I really appreciate. ”

While talking to Fox News Digital, Williams-Paisley shared her excitement for her new role, returning to the small screen for the first time following her health struggle.
“I’m on the other side of it and I’m grateful to be back at work in this role. It’s so different to me showing up like myself. I really enjoy it.”
“It was an interesting new twist for me,” she added.

The “Nashville” actress explained that she will connect with the concept of the series due to her marriage to the country star for over 20 years. Brad Paisley.
“I’m from New York and I married a rural boy so I can relate to the essence of this show,” she said. “So I got it. I got the charm and we’ve been married for a long time. So I’d say it’s pretty successful. So I understand what it works. And I can see this show because I was able to see little by little when we were filming.
Williams Pisley also reflected the secrets behind her successful relationship with the “She’s Everything” singer, revealing that it is not possible to pinpoint exactly how long the two married.

“The other day I asked if Brad was 22 or 23, so it seems we can’t get it right. He didn’t know,” she said. “And we spoke to another couple who were married just like in 53, and they got married the same year. [we did]. ”

“Then I’ll also say that maintaining a sense of humor is very important,” she added. “And that’s what we can do. Find something you can laugh about. I think it’s really important.”

“It was great, I was so happy he protected it and he enjoyed it,” she said. “He enjoyed meeting the guys. One of them, Matt, had been to one of his shows and they knew his music, so I think it was fun for him to join the show and give him some wisdom.”

“They really want to find love, and producers want these couples to find love,” Williams Paisley continued. “What you’re going on is real. Nothing like that is made up. I also love that this show is a little more healthy and old-fashioned. I think it’s sweet.”
“People aren’t trying to trip up contestants, get people drunk or create scandals. That’s happening in itself,” she added with a laugh.
