Kevin Durant will play for his fifth NBA team later this year. The 2014 League MVP officially became a member of the Houston Rockets over the weekend. NBA’s first seven teams trade It’s finished.

But in a recent candid discussion with his former coach Steve Nash, Durant looked back further as he discussed some of his stints with the Brooklyn Nets.

“I think we had this conversation in Portland. Just before the game, ‘Who am I spending the next five years?” Durant said at LeBron James and Nash’s co-hosted recently. “Be careful with the game” Podcast.
“I just signed that deal. You (Steven Nash) signed the deal. But we feel safe, but everything else around us wasn’t in a bad way. We got a GMS going to the other team.

Durant added that while he is on the same page as Nash, there are other factors that contribute to the atmosphere of dysfunction.
“It feels like we’re locked up on the same page and we understand that we’re trying to do something special here,” Durant said. “But I felt like your hands were tied up a lot because you had to. As a coach, you had to deal with that much.”
Nash admitted Durant’s point by admitting, “I couldn’t coach as much as I wanted.”
Durant responded by suggesting that Nash’s best version was taken away as coach.

Durant summed up his stint net As “strange,” he spoke enthusiastically about his experience playing for the franchise.

“That first year, guys, the most fun balls I had. Some of the most fun balls I’ve played for the rest of my life,” he said. “I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed Brooklyn. I loved playing in Brooklyn, but it was so much around people who were committed to the situation and it felt like we were committed, but not everyone else. It was just weird.”

Durant signed with the Net in 2019 after three seasons Golden State Warriors. He was part of a team that won two NBA Finals in Golden State, but suffered an injury to Achilles when it was his final season with the team.
Durant ultimately appeared in 129 games during his three-year tenure with the Net.
