The Main Coast Fisherman Association was praised Jordon Hudson For her defense during the Miss Maine American Pageant earlier this month.
Support for Maine fishermen seemed close to Hudson’s heart. She defended their cause as well as pageants, but thanked Sen. Susan Collins, R. Maine and the Trump administration for renegotiating the Maine Sea grant.

“Advocating for commercial fishermen in Maine takes many forms, sometimes walking the stage in heels wearing bikini,” the Main Coast Fishermen Association wrote in an Instagram story on Monday. “From the stage to the work waterfront, Jordon Hudson helps to shine the spotlight on Maine fishing communities in ways we never imagined.
“I appreciate a voice like Jordon reminding us that advocacy doesn’t always look the same, but that’s always important. Together, we’ll endure.”

“I think about this a lot because there are massive departures for fishermen that are occurring in rural Maine. I don’t want to see fishermen leave this place,” she said. Via Mass Live. “As your next Miss Maine America, I insist on going to the community… I will go to the government and defend these people so that they don’t have to think of these people as moments of the past.”
Hudson’s parents owned it The French Bay Fisheries in Maine. However, Taunton Bay, the area where they fished, was closed to state fishing in 2000, and their business eventually went bankrupt a few years later.
Her family’s ship reportedly suffered damage and could not afford repairs. The families tried to lobby state and local councils to facilitate regulations that hinder the fishing and ultimately prevented their businesses from closing.

The family eventually moved to Massachusetts.
