
The 89th Masters Tournament begins at Augusta
Former PGA Tour golfer Jerry Putty, who finished the top five twice with the Masters, joins Fox & Friends First to discuss predictions for the annual tournament as players are tee-off in Augusta, Georgia.
John Rahm was once the number one golfer in the world, but after winning. Master In 2023, he struggled to stay competitive in the next major.
On Thursday, Rahm nearly snapped the club as he took some bad breaks and drove into the woods driving a tee shot into the right hole in the ninth hole. Rahm knew exactly what had happened and removed the club from his hand when the ball had tailed.

He took a picture of the club on his lap before thinking he might need it for the rest of the round.
He finished the first round of the Masters, a three-over-par Masters, tied for 63rd place. He made five bogeys cards.

Rahm came in 45th in last year’s Master. He spoke at the beginning of the week about the pressure he felt during the tug-of-war between the PGA Tour and Liv Golf.
“There were a lot of questions I really didn’t have an answer, but I tried.He’s athletic. “Hey… the state of the game and what’s going on. We don’t know. No one knows. We all want a solution and it’s hard to give it.”

Justin Rose finished the first round with a lead at 7 under, with Corey Connors, Scotty Schaeffler and Rudig Aberg taking second place at 4 under.
