Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame John Elway His longtime agent, Jeff Sperbeck, broke his silence Wednesday night after he was injured and killed in a golf cart crash in California.
“I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the death of my best friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck,” Elway said in a statement via ESPN.
“There are no words that truly express the deep sadness I feel at the sudden loss of someone that means so much to me.

“My heart and deep sympathy come to Jeff’s wife, Kori. His children are Carly, Sam, Jackson, and everyone who knew and loved him. Jeff is deeply overlooked because of the loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love that he has brought to my life and many other lives.”
Sperbeck’s family has also issued a statement.
“We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our beloved Jeff Sperbeck. He is a wonderful father, husband, brother, son and friend for many who will be deeply overlooked by everyone,” they said in a joint statement. We are saddened by this unimaginable loss as a family, along with our beloved friend Elway and many other clients and Jeff.
“We appreciate the overwhelming support we have received during this challenging time and are looking for privacy from our families.”
Sperbeck passed away early Wednesday at Palm Springs’ Desert Regional Medical Center. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office was confirmed a few days after the Saturday accident in La Quinta. Sperbeck was 62.
Elway was driving a golf cart, so Spelbeck fell down and hit his head with asphalt. TMZ reported Early Wednesday. Sperbeck was placed on life support after the accident.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation and there were no signs that Elway was recklessly driving the golf cart, TMZ reported.
Sperbeck became Elway’s manager in 1990 and represented hundreds NFL Player Through multiple agents.
His other clients included Hall of Fame Ronnie Lott and Jim Plunkett.
In 2015, Elway and Sperbeck founded 7Cellars, producing premium wines from Central California and Napa Valley.

Elway spent his entire 16 years with the Broncos, winning two Super Bowl. He also spent time at the Broncos front office.
