In an excerpt from the following book, “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,” authors Jake Tupper and Alex Thompson detail the “terrifying” moments in which the former US president couldn’t recognize an Oscar-winning actor after the Oscar-winning actor. Fast forward to 2024, the author claims that Clooney, accompanied by fellow actor Julia Roberts, quickly realised Biden’s physical decline the moment he saw him.

“The president seemed to be on a severe decline, as if he had been aged 10 years ago since Clooney last saw him in December 2022,” they wrote. “He was taking a small step, and it seemed like his aide was leading him with his arms.”

According to the book, Clooney “feeled the knot” in his stomach as the frail president approached him.
“Biden saw him. ‘Thank you for being here,’ he said. “Thank you for being here.”
“I know George,” the assistant assistant gently reminded the president to anyone in front of him. “Yeah, yeah,” the president told one of the world’s most famous men, the host of this lucrative donor. “Thank you for being here.”
The author wrote that Biden “didn’t recognize Clooney” and “it seemed clear.”

“It wasn’t alright,” an insider who witnessed the moment told the author, according to the excerpt. “It’s the moment when you recognize someone you know, especially someone you know who you know, who is a famous person who is fundraising for you – it was late. It was uncomfortable.”
“Clooney was shaken by his core. The president didn’t recognize the man who knew him for years. Clooney had previously expressed concern about Biden’s health. White House aides said he was working on taking long steps to the president when he walked, but obviously the issue went far beyond his walking.

Biden had shown signs of “a clear sign of a brain frozen and a clear sign of mental slip.”
“It was horrifying for some of them,” the author writes.
Representatives from Clooney, Biden, Tapper and Thompson did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
