former Prairie View A&M A soccer player and Texas native Jackson Bailey have passed away, the university announced this week. He was only 22 years old.
The Panthers’ track and field club shared a lengthy post announcing Bailey’s passing on Tuesday. Bailey was a member Prairie View A&M Football During the 2023-2024 season, however he did not appear in the official games of that season.

“The Prairie View A&M University Athletics Bureau expresses the deepest sadness of the family, friends, teammates and fraternity brothers of Jackson “Jacks” Bailey, a valued member of the Panther Football Program and the PVAMU community,” the statement said.
“His favorite words were: ‘God has got me.’ These words led his paths on and off the field. ”
Details surrounding Bailey’s death were not immediately known.

Bailey was a standout linebacker at Red Oak High School in DeSoto. Texas, He won the 5A Division I All-State and honored his fourth year when he registered 64 tackles and four intercepts. He moved to play in Arizona, where he redshirted his freshman year.
He then transferred to Louisiana Monroe, where he appeared in nine games. He recorded 14 tackles and one quarterback rushing during the 2022-2023 season.

According to Prairie View A&M University, Bailey moved to get closer to his third year home.
