The wreck ended the days as well, collecting Stingray Rob and Kaifin Simpson.
“The start was a little crazy. It really got tough behind Takuma (Sato),” Larson told Fox after leaving the infield care center. “I was close to him. I was loose and then I got a bit here and there and spun. Yeah, I hate it… I got a bit enthusiastic on the reboot and caused that crash.
“Try to get through this quickly and go to Charlotte. Forget that and try to beat the next one.”
Larson tried to complete a feat known as the “double” in an attempt to become the second driver in racing history. This involves completing all 500 laps on the Indy 500, flying to Charlotte Motor Speedway and racing NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600.

He said Fox News Digital Before the Indy 500, where he was looking forward to the challenge.
“Why I love racing. I like to challenge myself. You like to learn new cars and stuff. And I like to compete in the biggest races in the world. So doing two of them on the same day is pretty cool,” Larson said.
“For me, I want to do it while I’m at Prime. I’m 32. I feel like I’m at the top of our sport. I felt the timing was right. I don’t know how long my NASCAR career will last. I’ve grown up, but I look at the caliber and level, as it’s different from what we see and feel on the road course.”

Unfortunately for Larson, the feat is put on hold for at least another year.
