Bethlehem Mayor Maher Kanawati announced that festivities will resume from December 6th with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the famous Manger Square.
“From the heart of Bethlehem, birthplace of christa city of peace, once again we light the flame of hope and offer our prayers for peace,” the mayor said in a video posted on Instagram.
“Let’s celebrate the message of Christmas together,” he added. ”Glory to God In the highest, on earth, peace, goodwill to all men. Bethlehem keeps the light alive. ”
Manger Square, located in the center of Bethlehem, is named after the manger where Jesus lay after his birth.
