Country music icons of the 90s Gretchen Wilson According to the star, after health concerns and her personality kept her out of the public eye, she was hit with a massive victory with Fox’s “Masked Singer.”
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Wilson shared why he was on hiatus in Hollywood.
“So I got Covid. I was one of the first people to get it. It was a round one. It left me with high blood pressure, shortness of breath, asthma – I still have it. To a scary level,” Wilson told Fox News Digital only.

Covid has not been Wilson’s only health battle in recent years.
“I smashed my legs too. I was in a wheelchair for eight months. So there were a lot of things I had to do with work.”
“So I just left and understood that. It took a long time, like I said, but I finally got to be a place like, ‘Now, I feel like I’m back’. ”

“I don’t go on the phone, it’s not my personality.

When Wilson called to compete in “Masked Singer,” she decided to use it as an opportunity to see if her talent is still there.
“When they called and asked, it was like the best for me. I don’t know of a better opportunity to go and try to see ‘What am I having? I have it or is it finished?’ And, while it was a tough job, it was very rewarding.
“I don’t think I have this kind of pride, or if this was the only thing I hadn’t played the show, I don’t think you know. The show has proved that I can still do it, I still need to do it, I still want to do it,” she said, referring to the song and performance.

Wilson had “tools” with her while competing in a song competition show that helped ease her health issues.

“I take two different inheritors every day and I take a pretty massive beta blocker. So, I’ve got my tools. No, I don’t think that I felt any different during the show than I do with my typical touring gigs. It’s probably a little bit harder to do the 75- to 90-minute nonstop, middle of July, Yuma, Arizona show. That’s probably a little bit harder than any given one day on the show. I will say that It’s enough work that I felt dehydrated a few times.
Now that Wilson has returned to the spotlight, she works with Yellowstone creators Taylor Sheridan, Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.

She told Fox News Digital that she spoke to Sheridan about appearing in one of his many shows.
“I don’t know, we spoke a bit, we were working, so obviously we didn’t sit and shoot the CR-P. I want to choose his brain. [got] What, five, ten different shows follow,” Wilson said.
According to the singer, Wilson felt he was working with Shelton and Urban.

“Blake is just having a good time all the time. He’s funny. I think he could have been a comedian very easily if things hadn’t worked for him in the industry.
“And Keith is more serious, but man, what a guy. Every time I’m around him, I’m a guy, I wanted to be a guy, when I grew up, he’s great. He’s so talented. He played every night. Me, Keith, you really do.” And I saw Blake and said, “Yeah, not that much.” Wilson said with a laugh.

“[I] There was an absolute explosion, man. It was a good time. It was wild. It was challenging. It was just fun, man, that was a very different experience than anything I’d ever done. And I’m really happy that I did it. It was free, as it was. Creatively, I felt like I had readjusted my whole system and my whole way of thinking,” Kelly told Fox News Digital.

“I knew that when I got into it, it would be fun, quirky and wild, and it would be like a fun time and a theatrical work and a wild piece. But I’m just myself, don’t worry about anything, guys, and that’s good for me. Every kind of song, different genres, and just sing here, there’s my views on how I play that song and how I play this song,” Kelly said.
