Bueckers was later asked what she said to the coach.
“I told him I didn’t like him,” she joked.
This was the Bueckers roller coaster with the highest 19.9 points per game in UConn history with elite alumni. However, she tore the ACL in 2022, leaving the entire season missing.
The Bueckers are part of the only team in UCONN history to lose a national title game before being injured, failing to leave last year’s Final Four.
However, on Sunday, she dropped 17 points along the way to ultimately win everything.

The Bueckers also hold UConn records at most points scored in Madness in March throughout their career.
