Aaron Rogers When he answered the final question of the NFL offseason earlier this month, he finally agreed to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The reaction was a little more mixed than the support. The Steelers have started five different quarterbacks for them since Ben Roethlisberger retired after the 2021 season. When Rogers signed with the New York Jets in 2023, he wasn’t in the form of an MVP.

Meanwhile, the former general manager insisted on Rogers. It becomes “unrelated.” On Thanksgiving, Super Bowl champion Joe Tisman took a more optimistic approach when he spoke with Fox News Digital in preparation for the American Century Championship Golf Tournament next month.
He said Rodgers has a “potential chance of success” due to his ability to throw the ball along with another important element – he doesn’t have to play GM in addition to quarterback.
“Don’t forget that Aaron was there until this year when Aaron was basically dominated,” Cheeman said. “He was well versed in the system and had his opinion on his coordinator, those he wanted.
“He doesn’t have to be an assistant general manager. He doesn’t have to worry about personnel. All he needs to worry is he can carry out this attack, so from my perspective I think he’ll put a burden on him to be honest with you.

Plus, the Mike Tomlin-led Steelers have always been well coached.
“You’re part of the football team. The way you gain respect is to go out and do your job, study hard, work hard,” added Theismann. “And of course, Aaron is saying all the right things right now, so I think he’s going to do the right thing.”
Rodgers had 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions in his first season coming out of Achilles’ tears.

Pittsburgh made the playoffs 10-7, but it would certainly be interesting to see how they do with Rodgers under the center.
