
The US Secret Service has filed federal criminal charges against a man accused by the Secretary of Homeland Security’s Office Christie NoemThe wallet she was with her family while she was eating Easter and having lunch.
The criminal charges filed Monday in court reported that 49-year-old Mario Bustamante Leiva, accused of wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and robbery.
The complaint alleges that Bustamante Leiva committed three robberies between April 12, 2024 and April 20, 2025, and after each robbery he made fraudulent purchases using credit cards obtained from each victim.
He was eventually arrested on Saturday by members of the Metropolitan Police Station (MPD) and Secret Service.

Authorities say that Bustamante Leiva is an illegal Chilean citizen, and with each trick, he approaches the victim as he eats at a restaurant, steals his wallet from behind his seat and escapes from the scene.
Detective Video evidence of theftwhich led them to identify suspects as Bustamante Raiva. He was arrested Saturday and initially charged with two counts of robbery, but additional charges were pending for the additional offences being investigated by the Secret Service, officials said.

According to a complaint filed with local police, the bag was on the floor of her table when it was stolen.
