Dan Bongino, Deputy Director of the FBI On Wednesday evening, the department said it was investigating issues related to the origins of Covid-19, but he did not confirm the existence of a formal investigation into the cover-up.
Bongino made a statement in a post about X amid the growing attention of the newly identified media COVID-19 (COVID-19) distortion.
“Please read and process new reports Co-bid strain appearswrites Bongino, we want you to know that in multiple field offices we are actively investigating the concealment of the origins of the Covid virus and related issues that require our attention. “Americans deserve the answer.”

He did not identify scrutiny of a particular individual or organization. FBI No official news releases have been issued on the issue and the scope of the review remains unknown.
The FBI did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Bongino’s comments represent one of the most direct official statements by senior FBI officials regarding the agency’s ongoing interest in the origins of the pandemic and the surrounding circumstances.
In 2023, then FBI director Christopher Ray said the agency was confidently evaluated that Covid-19 was most likely arising from a laboratory incident in Wuhan, China. Chinese authorities have consistently denied such claims, calling them politically motivated and unfounded.

Bongino’s post has appeared in several US states following the detection of a new Covid-19 variant, tentatively identified by researchers as NB.1.8.1. Federal health officials have not designated it as a variant of concern.
