Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who allegedly sent a threatening message to the Director of National Intelligence Tarshi Gabbard And her husband.
DOJ announced the arrest of Aliak Balmohamed Amin on Monday, saying he sent a threatening text message To Gabbard From March 29th to April 1st.
The threat included Amin, who allegedly wrote, “You and your family will die soon,” and “I will do my job personally if necessary.”
“Death to America means death to America literally means death to America, and Tarshi lives in the time you borrowed,” another text read.

“The two homes in Texas are legal targets and will be hit by where we choose,” another said.
“Prepare to die you, you, Tarshi and everyone you cherish. America is burning,” Amin is said to have written in another text.
“Threatening to harm a civil servant is a criminal act that cannot be exempt from political discourse,” U.S. lawyer Richard S. Maultley Jr. said in a statement on the arrest. “Our office will work with law enforcement partners to vet individuals who commit these violent acts.”

Police arrested Amin from Lilburn, Georgia on April 11th. He is faced with charges of communicating an interstate threat to injure Gabbard.
“The FBI considers all threatening communications to be a serious federal crime. We will employ all the investigative tools and resources available to identify the person responsible and ensure that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” “This arrest serves as a clear warning. If you are engaged in this type of criminal activity, you will be caught and go to prison.”

Federal agents say they have discovered similar threats allegedly committed by Amin in a social media post, including an image depicting a firearm pointing to a photo of Gabbard and a second image of a firearm pointing to a photo of Gabbard and her husband.

Federal agents recovered the firearm while running a warrant searching Amin’s home.
