Following news that two Chinese citizens have been charged with allegedly smuggling “dangerous biological pathogens.” US To study at a US university, Fox News Digital spoke to a Chinese expert. China said the arrest should be a wake-up call to the country.

The Department of Justice also says that toxins in Fusarium graminearum cause vomiting, liver damage and “reproductive disorders in humans and livestock.”
According to criminal charges, one of the accused allegedly received Chinese government funding for her work on Chinese pathogens.
The couple has been accused of bringing pathogens to the United States to study at the University of Michigan lab, raising more concerns about Chinese citizens infiltrating American universities.

“American higher education is obsessed with the Communist Party of China,” Sobolik told Fox News Digital. “I’ve been hooked on simple money from Beijing for decades. Paying full tuition is crazy for international students.
“American universities must finally open their eyes and stop deliberately blinding the threat of CCP. They are vectors for intelligence newsletters. They are vectors of these threats targeting Americans in our soil. It’s unacceptable.

Officials at the Chinese embassy said Wednesday they were unaware of the incident involving two Chinese citizens charged with smuggling “dangerous biological pathogens” into the United States for university research.
“I don’t know of any particular situation, but I would like to emphasize that the Chinese government is always demanding that Chinese citizens overseas comply with local laws and regulations, and that they will firmly protect their legitimate rights and interests.”
