After becoming the first selected player in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jared Goff He went through several highs and lows in his five-year run with the Los Angeles Rams.
Starting with the sophomore campaign, Goff took a notable leap forward after Sean McVay took Rams Head coaching reins. Goff won a Pro Bowl nod in 2017 and 2018, with the latter season culminating with the Rams’ Super Bowl appearance.
However, Goff eventually quarterbacked the Rams for two more seasons. The franchise has decided to trade with the Detroit Lions in exchange for veteran signalling caller Matthew Stafford.

Goff is one of the NFL quarterbacks who agreed to allow Netflix cameras to chase him for the streaming giant’s docusary “quarterback” throughout the 2024 season. The latest season of the series premiered this week.

In one of the episodes, Goff remembered his feelings when he learned that his time was over in the Rams uniform. He suggested he was completely blind to this move. In Detroit.

“I got a call from Shaun three weeks after the final game of the season and really didn’t expect anything,” Goff explained on the show. “He lets me know that they’re trading me for Detroit, and I said, ‘Oops, it’s okay, it’s okay. What the hell is it? What the heck is it going on?” About 30 seconds after that call, it was on Twitter. ”
Goff added that he still has feelings of betrayal. He also hinted at a clear shortage of conversations with Rams football personnel decision makers about what is included in possible transactions before receiving the call. From McVay.

“You feel like you’ve been betrayed, or you feel like you’re not wanted,” Goff said. “And for me, it was the fact that we had no conversation in the end, and it wasn’t like “I’m thinking about moving a bit of ‘type things’.” There was nothing. ”

Goff continued to question the level of “maturity” involved in handling his situation.
“It’s not that blind, I hope there was some maturity. Have that conversation and tell me what was going on, how things happened. Why is this happening?
Stafford led the Rams to the Super Bowl Championship, but Goff was successful after arriving at Motor City. He helped lift Lion The franchise’s long NFC Championship Game appeared in 2023, and ended with a drought.
He received Pro Bowl honors in 2024 and led the Lions to a 15-win season.
