“I think Indiana is even more dangerous when Caitlin Clark doesn’t play. “The ball is in her hands so you know what you need to take. But when you see Indiana now, they have so many weapons.”
Peck gave specific admiration to fever players Kelsey Mitchell, Ahri McDonald and Ariya Boston. Peck didn’t seem to praise the hot star. Sophie Cunningham Or Lexi Hull.
“When you’re point guards like Kelsey Mitchell and Ali MacDonald play on the boundary line and posting like Aliya Boston, I’m going to tell you: Indiana, they’re a threat, and that’s specifically on the defensive side,” Peck said.
Peck’s comments went viral on social media, inciting the rage of Clark’s loyal supporters.
Barstool founder Dave Portnoy reposted a clip of Peck’s comments on X, writing, “I knew this was going to happen.”
The popular sports commentary X account, Brickscenter, shared the clip, writing, “We need to study our hatred towards CC.”
Hundreds of small accounts have seen criticism of Peck’s analysis.

Another user said, “We have finished all the PECS of CC last year and don’t expect it to be different from this season.”
One user even went, “ESPN analyst Carolyn Peck is a fool and hates him.”
