Dwayne “Rock” Johnson The last time he spoke to his late father, Rocky Johnson, he talks about how he had a very complicated relationship.
The 53-year-old actor said he fought over his father’s memoir. Johnson said Rocky’s book ostensibly contains a quote he wrote, which credited his father for his success.
“It hurts,” he said The New York Times Magazine In a detailed interview released on Sunday.
Johnson’s father, the former professional wrestler himself, had just published “Soulman: Rocky Johnson Story” at the time, and Johnson said he was shocked to write the foreword to the book.

“It just completely crossed the line,” Johnson said. “It’s a warning, it’s back to narcissism.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Johnson for additional comment.
In fact, Johnson said their 2019 explosion was their biggest battle with their father 25 years ago, and they decided they wanted to follow in their father’s wrestling footsteps.
Rocky Johnson told his son at the time: “What do you think you probably have to offer?”
Johnson’s family frequently moved when he was a child, and his father often went on the path as a wrestler, but often lacked time for him.
His parents’ relationship was unstable to the point where they sometimes lived apart.

Johnson said it was like a relief from the battle.
He also attributed the most painful moment of his life to his father.
When he was 15, he said he and his mother had been kicked out of their apartment in Hawaii. His mom asked his father to let him stay with Dwayne in Tennessee, where he lived at the time.
“It hurt my heart,” Johnson said he saw his mother’s reaction to the eviction notice left at their door. But he said his father told her, “No problem, I have an apartment.”
However, when Johnson arrived in Nashville, his father was nowhere to be found. Instead, he was greeted by a man named Bob. Bob takes him to the motel and introduces him to another man named Bruno.

“Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw“The actor said he quickly noticed her father was living with another woman, and when her mother arrived after driving from San Francisco at the Ford Thunderbird, which her husband bought, she also learned about.
“Thinking about that hurts my heart,” Johnson said. “My mother was driving: “What is my life now?” whole time? ‘”
She knew when she arrived at the motel and met Bruno and Rocky, who were beginning to talk to in the circle.
“That was it. Within five minutes it was all… It wasn’t even an explosion. It was just a collapse,” Johnson explained.
He says he has learned to consider himself a major man in his mother’s life, and after a drive to Nashville, he was the one who pulled her back from the possible tragedy.

Johnson said his father’s remaining memoirs of 2019 were full of fiction.
“Growing up with my father, I know the truth in all these stories, and they are not in this book. If the truth is blue, the story is red,” he explained.
Eventually, Johnson pulled it off the shelves of the bookstore.

Johnson learned that his father, who was driving in 2020, had passed away, setting the first day to film “Red Notice.”

He initially thought he should go home and be with his family, but he remembered one of his father’s many mantras.
So he went to work.
At his father’s funeral, he said he realized his dad was a great friend to many others, such as wrestlers. Hulk Hogan and Triple H.
“All good enough, my old man was this wonderful friend,” he said. “Complicated husband.Complicated dad.However, great friends for everyone else.”
Johnson asked if he thought he was more of his father’s friend than his son.

“He wasn’t my friend either,” he replied. “I hope. I think my mother was my friend.”
Johnson currently has three children of his own. Daughter, Simone, 24 years old. Jasmine, 9; Tiana, 7.
