
The good old boys decided to protect Katherine Bach and her Daisy Duke.
“Dukes of Hazard” starring John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Bach, and was recently reunited to celebrate General Lee, the show’s iconic vehicle. Hollywood Museum. The series recorded “The Adventures of Hazard County, Rubberburnin “The Duke Boys”” from 1979 to 1985.
“We’ve never been friends for the rest of our lives,” Schneider, who played Beau Duke, told Fox News Digital.

“I’ve met other people from other shows, especially other bands. There are a lot of bands that I can’t stand with each other,” the actor and musician said. “If Tom Wopat wasn’t one of my best friends and Katherine Bach wasn’t one of my best friends, it might not have existed.”
When the sitcom first premiered, then-CBS programming chief B. Donald Grant noticed that the room of television critics who hated it was full. Hollywood Reporter Share. The “Duke Hazard” attacked the trio on Stardom, especially Bach. The shorts made her a sex symbol. Schneider said he and Wopat saw her back while the cast got incredibly close and fans looked at her million-dollar legs.

“Tom and I were very protective of Catherine,” the 65-year-old said. “Hollywood back then, Hollywood is always a bit weird, but especially for a young woman in her 20s, her legs were insured for $1 million.
“So whenever Katherine has a visitor on the set, she might be dating, we’ll come to them as you imagine Bo and Luke. [Duke] It will come out. ‘Hi, how are you? what are you doing? We’re working early tomorrow so you had to get her by 9am tonight. ”

“We were terrible for these people,” laughed Schneider. “But Kathy will do the same. Kathyne has done it to me for the rest of her life. I’m still doing it with her. But it’s people who love each other and respect each other – you protect each other.”

Bach previously told Fox News Digital She was never romantically involved With her co-stars.
“Let me say this. As much as they were the most attractive, sexiest friends and men on the planet, they just worshiped them – they were really like my brothers,” she said. “As much as I appreciate them, I won’t end up with them, as you say. I look at your brother or someone close to you and say, ‘Can I do this?’ That’s no. ”

“My relationship with Tom and Catherine was fantastic,” he said. “One of the things people have mentioned over the past 40 and a half years is how realistic the friendship between Beau, Luke and Daisy is, how incredible it is for us all to love, respect and protect each other.”
“Well, it started from the beginning,” he shared. “I don’t know why, but especially Tom and I… Tom and I both had guitars on hand. Great songs from our time. I think the music was there together. ”

Schneider was 18 years old and graduated from high school when he joined the Duke of Hazard. Two years after Burt Reynolds and Sally Field starred at the box office, “Smokey and the bandit.”
“It was a pretty trick to steal fame at age 18,” admitted Schneider. “…I think if I wasn’t for Denver Pyle, the incredible actor who played my uncle Jesse, I would probably crashed early and burned. He’d done multiple television shows.

“I had an incredible youth,” he revealed. “I haven’t said that [didn’t have] Great time, but I didn’t get off the rails. And I believe in Denver Pile for that reason… Denver Pile is definitely the number one reason why I’m still here. ”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, annual fan practices are known to attract more than 100,000 spectators. But despite the show’s enduring popularity, it did not remain scandal-free.
In 2015, TV Land, the only network that aired the series at the time, aired it amid a controversy over portrayal of the Confederate flag.
Reuters Fans also joined social media to express their dissatisfaction with the network’s decision. The change.org petition to reclaim the show had over 1,800 supporters.

“I think in 2020 there was a group of people who attacked everything,” Schneider said. “… They just had something wrong. I think now everything is safe from cancel culture. I think we’re entering an age of common sense.

“Some of the people who probably didn’t study what happened, took this pointless complaint at face value,” he continued. “I think they saw the show now, and they said, ‘Wait a minute, this is great. This is fun. This is community. This is family. I think it’s evidenced now by the Hollywood Museum by their beautiful exhibits.
Schneider said there is good reason for the “Duke Hazard” to have a loyal following for years.

“I think the legacy of the Dukes is that the most important thing we have is the community,” he shared. “It’s a lesson that Uncle Jesse teaches. I’ve had so many parents and grandparents come to me and say this is a show that helped raise their kids, and I think it’s important.
“Some shows are fun, some shows are exciting. Some shows are like “Prairie’s Little House” that teaches great lessons. But…it was hardly anything. “Dukes of Hazard” was all that plus fast cars and leaps over streams. ”
