Dolly Parton She shared how she leaned towards her faith when dealing with the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, who has been with almost 60 years.
In a new interview with Associated Press, The 79-year-old country legend revealed how her belief in God helped her navigate the sadness she endured since Dean’s death in 82 in March.
“I am a man of faith and I really believe that one day I will see him again,” Parton said.

Parton explained that Dean has always been her biggest supporter, claiming that plans for what she wants to achieve in the future have not changed in the wake of her losses.
“I’ve always had dreams and I think I’ve always worked. My husband understood that. Carl knew it better than anyone else. He was all about it. He was very proud of me.”
Parton continued.

“I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18,” she wrote along with her spouse along with a throwback photo. “We spent 60 precious and meaningful years together. Like all great love stories, they never end. They live on with memories and songs. He will always be the star of the story of my life and I will dedicated this song to him.”

Two weeks after Dean’s death, Parton revealed how she continues.

While talking to The Associated Press, Parton shared details about her upcoming projects.
“I’m out of a new book… this is called the “star of the show.” This is actually a song I wrote many years ago,” she said. “But it’s about my life on the road and my life on stage. As the backstage and all the people I’ve met, and everything that happens when I’m traveling like this, I have for all this year.”
“So then I have the story of my life as a musical,” continued Parton. “It’s called “Dolly: an original musical.” And of course I wrote a lot of original songs.
“I’m going to go to the Fisher Performing Arts Center at Belmont University. [in Nashville]. Then, once it runs until the end of August, take it to New York, Broadway next year. “
