
When Dick Van Dyke first looked at Arlene Silver, he was immediately smitted.
It was 2006, and younger Silver worked as a makeup artist at the SAG Awards. But for the Mary Poppins star, age was just a number.
“I’ve never greeted the strange girls of my life. I was so scared,” the actor said. People Magazine on sunday.
Dick Van Dyke says in an emotional video that he “don’t be afraid” of death.

“But I was on the show behind the scenes and she was passing by. For some reason, I just jumped up and said, ‘Hello, I have a penis,'” recalled the 99-year-old. “There was something about her who got me and I was right.”
Van Dyke continued to hire Silver for other projects. Despite their 46-year age gap, They said “I” in 2012.
“We’re doing really well,” Van Dyke said. “Everyone said it wasn’t going well.”

“It’s… creepy how well it works,” Silver, 53. “People of the same age don’t last long.”
“We care a lot about each other,” she shared. “He made me feel like I could do anything.”
When it’s a date nightthe couple told the outlet that they like to keep things simple.

“We love being at home,” Silver explained. “We love Malibu, And it’s our favorite place, especially our home… we’re so grateful. Our house was hit by Franklin’s fire, but with the planning of things we were very fortunate. ”

In 2022, the actor confirmed it Closer than every week He was worried that the public would oppose their age gap.
“I thought there would be protests about a gold dig to marry an old man,” he told the outlet at the time. “But no one has ever acted that way.”
“We share our attitude,” he recalled. “She can use the flow and go. She loves to sing and dance. We do it almost every day. She’s just fun.”

Silver said life with Van Dyke is bliss.
“He’s the most perfect person,” she said. “I’m so happy, I’ve never met a very real, very wonderful person. He’s just like a happy medicine.”
Van Dyke said his secret to longevity is to “keep moving.”

“I was one of the lucky people who had to do something for a life he would have never done,” he told the outlet previously. “That’s why I’m still here… They can’t get me off stage.”
The star believed his stamina was “a good gene and not to be attacked by a bus.”
“I’ve always been an exerciser and I’m still there,” the actor told the outlet. “I go to the gym three days a week, get to the pool and exercise. At my age, they say they keep moving. I put it firmly on the ground and start tapping.”

Van Dyke shared that he did water aerobics, lifted weights and walked on the treadmill.
Back in 2015, Van Dyke wrote the book “It was titled “Keeping and Other Tips and Truths” about Aging, where he shared candid advice on enjoying old age.
“The main thing is to keep moving,” Van Dyke said. I told NPR at that time. “I think in my book I repeat three or four times, “Don’t start going down the stairs.” He kneels, his hips abandoned, and his back begins to come out.

“I think being optimistic is of my nature,” he continued. “I’m one of those people who stand up to the right side of my bed in the morning. I’m going to wake up and have some coffee and go to the gym.
“Everyone should dance,” he explained. “And everyone should sing. People say, ‘Well, I can’t sing.’ Everyone can sing. [duets] It continues at my house. ”
Still, Van Dyke admitted that he had regrets, but he said the past did not prevent him from enjoying life today.

“Well, I wouldn’t have smoked or drunk anything,” Van Dyke said of what he did differently.
“I think that’s what led me backwards. Sometimes I want to apologise to my body for the way I handled it… I have arthritis and all of them, but I didn’t discover dance and song until I was in my 30s.
Van Dyke told the outlet that his wife had him on her toes.

“It’s sometimes we forget that we’re doing great experiments here — 46 years’ difference,” Van Dyke said. “And we are working on that to some degree, we need to understand something and find out that old habits don’t work.
