
FL Governor Ron DeSantis On Tuesday, he signed the law on SB 700, eliminating the ability of local governments to add fluoride and other medical additives to the state’s public water supply.
“Clicking fluoride in your water supply is essentially a forced drug,” DeSantis said at a press conference in Tallahassee. “After all, we should all agree that people deserve informed consent.”

“When it gets hot in Sunshine State, no one wants cold fluoride,” Sen. Keith Truneau told Fox News Digital. “We protect natural resources and give Floridians the ability for the government to make their best choice without forcing unnecessary additives.”
Wilton Simpson, a Florida agricultural commissioner who joined DeSantis by signature, stressed that this is not about denial of fluoride, and not about taking medication without consent.

“Today, Florida has taken a bold step and declared that drinking water is hydrated, not medicine,” Simpson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Floridians should not take medication without agreeing. Through Florida’s Farm Bill, we’re saying it loud and clear: Florida’s water is now clean, safe and drug-free.

“Today’s efforts to prohibit local governments from unilaterally adding fluoride to public drinking water is a logical repetition of our commitment to being a free state in Florida,” said Brian Griffin, director of communications at Desantis. “And then Ron DeSantis delivered again.”
Desantis also led a movement into increasing distrust of healthcare institutions, citing fallouts from. Covid era policy.
“People are far more skeptical when these elites are trying to stuff something into our throats,” he said. “The burden lies on them to prove why this should be forced on people, and that shouldn’t really be.”
The law also includes broad support for Florida’s agricultural sector, the new Consumer Transparency Act, and restrictions on environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices targeting farmers and ranchers.
Desantis also committed to conduct on geoengineering.

“Florida is not a testing ground for geography engineering,” Desantis wrote on X on Tuesday. “The Free State of Florida means freedom from government or private actors who unilaterally apply chemicals or geoengineering to people and public spaces.”

Critics of the SB 700 claim that fluorescent agents have been used for a long time to combat tooth decay, especially in children.
However, Desantis pointed to updated guidance from state surgeon General Joseph Radapop, who raised concerns about the effects of fluoride on pregnant women and children.
“You don’t even have to agree to that analysis,” the governor said, “But people should still have the right to opt out.”
Kennedy did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
