During the audition, Leary was convinced that his musical talent could run with his family before singing. He was given a role in the play and told Hudson that “that moment changed my life.”

Leary continued his tattered story as he pointed out that his family was an Irish immigrant and that he had no money to send him to university.
But with the help of Sisters Sullivan, she didn’t just get Leary on stage. She helped him with his next act.

When the time came for college, Sister Sullivan led him towards an audition at Emerson College, winning him a full scholarship.
“She changed my life,” Leary replied with sincerity. “I became friends with her until she died.”

“I’ll do an HBO special, it’s just filthy,” he admitted. “She calls me and says, ‘I love the new special’ and it’s like ‘sister, language’. ”
Sister Sullivan replied, “Yeah, your kids were saying that in high school.”
More recently, Leary plays the Colonel in his latest Hollywood project, “Going Dutch.”
In the Fox comedy, Leary stars as US Army Colonel Patrick Quinn, who is reassigned to a Dutch base. He goes from Combat Command to a base on Masfit staff, whose estranged daughter, played by Taylor Misiak, and right-handed officer Major Abraham Shah, a right-handed officer, is tasked with supporting former “community” star Danny Pudi.
