Omar’s comments came in response to questions about the threat of domestic terrorism in the United States and “jihadism”
“And if fear is the driving force behind policies to keep America safe, if Americans are safe in this country, we should profile, monitor and create policies to combat the radicalization of white men,” Omar told Al Jazeera.
An Omar spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
The comment resurfaced in May after conservative influencer accounts, including Tiktok’s Libs, shared video footage of the interaction. Republicans including Vance condemned the statement.
“This isn’t just a disease, it’s actually a genocide language,” Vance said in the May 5th X-Post.

In response to Vance, Omar said in a post on X that he referred to the “rise of white nationalism” in an annual report published by the Anti-Defamation League, which stated that white supremacists were responsible for 78% of “extremist-related murderers.”
Omar, an outspoken defender of Gaza’s Palestinians, should look into what “genocidal” actually means when he is actively supporting the genocide that is taking place in Gaza.
On Wednesday evening, two Israeli embassy staffers, Jaron Lisinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, had left the museum event when they were shot and killed. Authorities say a pro-Palestinian, identified as Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, has been arrested.
Police said he chanted “free and free Palestine” when he was arrested.

Omar originally avoided reporters in search of her reaction to the shooting, but later posted X as “applauseful” by attack.
“I was appalled by the fatal shooting at the Capital Jewish Museum last night,” Omar said in a post on X on Thursday.
