As early movements intensify in the 2026 House majority battle, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) chairperson advocates for president Donald Trump And the Republican majority in the House and Senate are “incredibly damaging to our working families and our country.”
And, in the GOP defending a thin razor majority in the House of Representatives in next year’s midterm elections, Senator Suzan Dervene, DCCC chair, “We only need three more seats,” he said.
“We have 35 districts across the country where we have the opportunity,” Delvene pointed to the Republican-owned seats that DCCC is targeting in a Fox News digital interview in the country’s capital last week.
“We’re under attack. We’re fighting for the Americans, we’re fighting for the important issues that they care about.

The party in power after the presidential election – the GOP – will usually face political headwinds and lose its house seat in the next midterm, but the 2026 map I like Republicans.
“The battlefield is really laid out for our interests. There are 14 Democrats who won the seats carried by Donald Trump. [former Vice President] Kamala Harris. So it says we are under attack.
House GOP Campaign Committee Chairman told Fox News about Trump’s role in the mid-term
“The reason we have the opportunity is because people are furious because they want to see someone in office who is blindly loyal to the president, but also fight for the community.”
And pointing to the small bite house where Democrats escaped from the GOP majority in the 2024 election, she said, “It’s the kind of candidates that won in the final cycle. It’s the reason they actually won a seat in 2024 and the reason they’ll get back to their majority in 2026.”
However, Hudson pointed out that he has a strong alliance as he works to keep his home in control.
“The president understands that he must maintain a majority in the House of Representatives in the medium term, just as he has a four-year runway instead of a two-year runway to enact an agenda,” Hudson said. “He was extremely helpful to us and we are grateful for it.”
And Democrats face a voting dilemma as they remain silent at historic lows in many national surveys so far this year.
The Democrats’ ratings in the Fox News polls were 41% favorable and 56% disadvantaged in a survey conducted April 18-21.

This is the lowest ever for Democrats in the Fox News poll. And for the first time in ten years, the party was lower. That of GOP, This was favorable in 44% and unfavourable in 54%.
When the numbers turned back last summer, Fox News last asked a positive question from the party in one of its investigations.

But there is a silver lining for the Democrats.
A Fox News poll showed that if the 2026 midterm elections were held today, 49% of voters would support ordinary Democrats in Congressional districts, while 42% would support ordinary Republican candidates.
The Democrats also have another issue. It is a potential major challenge for long-standing and elderly House members of the Safe Blue District.
Recently elected Vice-Chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) David Hogg Last month he pledged to spend millions of dollars through outside political groups to support the main challenges for “sleeping on the wheel” House Democrats he claimed was ineffective in pushing Trump back.
The move by Hogg, a 25-year-old survivor of the shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida seven years ago, spent money on fellow Democrats.

In response, Delvene said, “Democrats across the country are united by reclaiming their homes.”

Fox News asked the Hogg move to force the DCCC and Allied Super PACS to divert money and resources from competitive districts to protect incumbents in the safe blue district from key challenges.
However, the conflict is giving GOP ammunition.
NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella insisted that “Democrats are not safe. A political earthquake is ongoing and old security guards are in a hurry.”
