Former NFL star Tom Lafferty passed away in Colorado on Thursday. Dallas Morning News Confirmed. The 1978 Super Bowl champion was 70 years old.
Rafferty recently suffered a stroke, and the former attacking lineman has been hospitalized since early May.
He played security and center during his outstanding career Dallas Cowboys.

Rafferty played for the Cowboys from 1976 to 1989. During that period he was a key part of the offensive line that helped protect Hall of Fame quarterbacks Roger Staubach and Troy Eikman.
The Vikings died at the age of 87 after a “long hospitalization,” the family says.
Before he became the fourth draft pick, Rafferty Nittany Lions, Pennsylvania.
Rafferty won the Super Bowl ring when the Cowboys defeated the Denver Broncos in the 1978 Super Bowl. He played in another Super Bowl after the 1978 season, Pittsburgh Steelers.

Perhaps Rafferty’s most memorable career moment came in January 1983 when he delivered a key block to support Tony Dorset’s 99-yard record set touchdown run in the spring. Minnesota Viking.

After his playing day, Rafferty spent time selling sports goods.
He is survived by his wife, their two children and grandchildren.
