Colorado’s annual summer football Camp began last week, but head coach Deion Sanders was away from the team.
Sanders, 57, is dealing with unspecified health issues and is in his real estate in Texas. USA TODAY.
Sanders’ eldest son, Dion Jr., said he doesn’t know when his father will return to Colorado.

“When I return to Boulder, I don’t know,” Deion Jr. said Sunday in a YouTube live stream from a real estate in Canyon, Texas. “I’ll wait until my dad leaves. I’ll go when he leaves. Until then, I’ll sit here with him.”
Deion Jr. said his father “feels good.”

“He will tell you immediately enough what he has gone through, what he has gone through,” added Deion Jr.
The University of Colorado told Fox News Digital that it has not commented on Sanders’ health issues at this time.
Sanders showed he was dealing with health issues in May when he revealed the former NFL Cornerback Asante Samuel’s podcast lost 14 pounds. With that look, Sanders said that what he was dealing with was “now on a completely different level.”

Colorado coaches have been dealing with several serious health issues in recent years. In 2021, he had two toes amputated in his left leg due to a blood clot that originated from a previous surgery.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame had surgery in 2023 to relieve blood clots in both feet.
Colorado finished 9-4 in Sanders’ second season as head coach in 2024. Colorado starts the 2025 season at home Georgia Institute of Technology August 29th.
