
Colorado The Democrat majority pushed the controversial gender and abortion bill slate on Sunday, cutting floor debate about what Republican lawmakers called “unprecedented” tactics.

The bills passed include SB25-183, which requires taxpayers to fund abortion services. HB25-1309, insurance companies require transgender procedures regardless of age. HB25-1312 imposes state-mandated gender policies on schools, and considers “forced control” in child custody cases where parents do not affirm their child’s gender identity. SB25-129 prohibits cooperation with out-of-state investigations on transgender procedures and abortion services.
Four bills were debated on the floor for more than 12 hours last week, according to Monica Duran, the state capitol majority Democratic leader.

“The minority provided dozens of corrections at that point,” Duran told Fox News Digital. “In the end, Coloradan has performed his clear duties and elected a key Democrat. And the session requires people to do their jobs every day, with only 120 days.”

Other Democrats in Congress who wrote the bill passed see them as a way to protect the 100th anniversary from Trump administration policies.

“Despite the Trump administration’s efforts to completely dismantle or limit abortion access, Coloradan believes that access to the reproductive care you need is your constitutional right,” said Democrat Lorena Garcia, a sponsor of SB5-183.
“This bill expands access to life-saving reproductive healthcare. Including abortion,“Garcia said in a statement.
The bill is now heading to the democratically controlled state Senate for consideration.
