Noem says she’s having a “frank” conversation with Saravia, and the pair later jointly announced a data sharing agreement that would help authorities identify illegal immigrants.
“We are making sure we are strengthening our local security systems, perpetuating illegal activities and disrupting the threatening actor’s movements that promote illegal trafficking of immigrants throughout the Western Hemisphere,” Noem said.

“Through this expansion of biometric data sharing, it will build cooperation that is much more efficient, effective, accurate and opens the door to new ways that we can continue to work together,” she added.
