Woods’ final round featured eight birdies and two bogeys, closing with four straight pars. He won the event on a three-stroke ahead of fifth-placed Luke Colton, Willie Gordon and Phillip Dunham.
Woods opened the tournament in the first round of 70, but continued on Tuesday at 65. He was competing at his fifth AJGA event, but his previous best finish was his 25th tie at the Junior Invitational held in Sage Valley in March.
Woods has already won several vitas on his resume, and he appeared in the 14-15-year-old category at the major championships of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in June 2023. After that year he won the Last Chance Regional Golf Tournament.
