Chad Michael Murray He almost died when he was 15 years old.
While appearing in Amazing company The star of Friday’s podcast “Freakier Friday,” 43, was opened up about the health horrors that almost killed him as a teenager.
“I was 15 years old. My gut twisted, I was hospitalization Two and a half months. That was a lot,” he revealed. “We had surgery. I had internal bleeding and lost 50% of my blood. I was on my deathbed.”

“I don’t want to be too specific about that, but I remember seeing my father, the weakest person I’ve ever seen, the priest at the end of my bed. They’re talking about the final ritual and all of it. [the nurse] He gave me a blood transfusion to save my life. “Murray said, “In and out of consciousness.” “It saved my life,” he added.

After the surgery, the “One Tree Hill” star said his organs began to be closed. He was forced to undergo a second surgery.
“Anyway, you’ll be there for two months. You know, my organs were closed and they had to wait until everything, because you’re all blood clotting around them. [healed]. “So anyway, I had to have a second surgery to clean everything up,” he said on the podcast.
When Murray left the hospital, he had lost over 60 pounds.

“I left. I went, like 180 to 118 pounds. When I went out, I was a skeleton,” he recalled. “I looked in the mirror for the first time and couldn’t believe I was looking back at the man, like, ‘Who is that?’
But looking back, Murray said that the terrible ordeal brought him closer to his family and faith.

“I started my relationship with God and my relationship with my Father really got closer,” he said. “My father [was] Raise five children yourself [and] Every day he came to the hospital and spent countless nights with me when he had four more children at home. ”
“The guy is tough like a claw and he did it for us. I’m not grateful. That’s when our relationship really bonds,” Murray added.
Last year, Murray revealed that faith has recently played a key role in his life.

“For us, we really believe it — and this is what we work for us — we just have the foundation,” Murray, who shares three children with his wife, Sarah Romer, told Fox News Digital in 2024.
“You have to have a strong foundation to know that there are consequences for your actions in life, and with God, we were able to really have it,” he continued. “We never live in a bubble, but we are very big, love and love very much. That’s how we try to live every day.
“It helps to keep you away from bad situations,” he added. “‘What do you know, this is probably not a good idea. Let’s not go there.’ I don’t think we should make a good decision.
