Faithful people are bringing good words across the church walls by hitting the beach this summer.
Beach Catholicism in Long Island, New York is made up of three parishes that hold masses near the sea every Sunday. (See the video at the top of this article.)
Since the group first launched in 2014, more than 1,000 people have been participating in the service per week.

The masses spread across three different beaches and three parishes of Long Island. Saint Ignatius Martyr, Saint Mary of the Island, and the Virgin of the Miraculous Medal.

Brianber, a pastor of Father Beach Catholic, told Fox News Digital that faith was not intended to be part of the four walls.
“When you were a child, do you feel anxious or embarrassed about expressing your faith in front of others? I do. I think most people do,” Barr said.
“We shouldn’t do that.”

Attendee Tim Murphy said he has been attending the service every summer since he started.

He says attending Mass is life-changing for him.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get so many people together and celebrate outside on the beach,” he said.

“People go past the boardwalk and stop and listen to God’s Word. It’s an incredible experience and you really need to be involved at some point this year.”
Dee Santos told Fox News Digital that every week is a special moment, and saw 1,200 people receive communion last week.

“What I love is, first of all, we have this beautiful gift from the God of the Beach, and we can celebrate his gift with his presence on the beach,” Santos said.
“It’s about bringing people to people who may not even see us worship. It’s about taking people off the boardwalk and off the beach,” Santos said.

“Last week, someone wanted to know what was going on and then they said, ‘I’m going to have a mass here.’ ”
She said the man had decided to stay and attend Mass.
