“I wouldn’t say we’re getting closer (more than he was playing). He’d say he’s stepping into the ground like a deck with more hands. “So I can spend more time off the court with him and he can invest all his time on the court whether it’s working out or not, and I feel that if he’s coming to my game, that’s what’s been buying us closer about our bond, our connection has always been there, but it’s got a bit stronger and it’s kind of stronger.”
Father and son bonding came in collaboration with Meta. There, the duo celebrated Father’s Day by filming an episode of “Close Friends Only.”
“It feels like a great outlet to do so because you can just work with Meta and Instagram to show us the other side of our personality and bond we and our dad have and we can show you the other side from the court, and it was really fun working with them.
“People always watch him in my game as a side job, but don’t really see our real connections like our real connections from the court. So I want to do these collaborations and these interviews and these podcasts.

“To be honest, early in my career, I wasn’t that good at basketball. So people and people who say I’m not that good are just saying he’s not there because he was still in the league. “But when I started getting better, people started taking my side as I continued to work, so now it’s got a lot of fans. Obviously, there’s a lot of asshole out there, there’s a lot of opinions, but I’m just driving and I’m looking forward to all the games.”
“My dad wasn’t the type to force me to do what I had to play basketball. He had to do what he did, so he kind of rocked me and let me make my own decisions, but this is what I wanted to do and this is what I fell in love with,” he continued. “So now I have the chance to follow in his footsteps and hopefully win some games. Clearly, the NBA is my main goal, but I’ll always be there, whether I’m going to school or not for a year or two. So this is what I want to do.

“My dad won the national championship. Obviously that’s the main goal, but even if you went there and won some games, won tournaments, won a few games, won a few games in the tournament. “They don’t make tournaments. They don’t win a lot of games in the meetings. So I just go there and really bring the fan base back, bring Syracuse and everyone knows what it is.
