Candace Cameron Bure It was reflected in the rocky chapter of Valeri Bulle’s husband, her husband, who had been in nearly 30 years.
In an episode of Tuesday’s “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast,” the 49-year-old actress revealed her past marital struggles with a 51-year-old former professional hockey player and the unexpected role her son, Lev, 25, performed in the reconciliation of her parents.
“Val and I went through a really, really rough season in our marriage,” the “Full House” alumni shared, adding that a low point occurred during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.

“It was heading south right away and we were like, ‘I don’t know, don’t think about it… we’re going to go through it.’ ”
Candice recalled Lev and his brother Natasha, 26, and Maxim, 23, approaching. Their parents At some point.
“Leff was leading the fee,” she said. “He came to us and said, ‘We want to talk to you guys, and Val and I sat down and preached a 45-minute sermon about our marriage. We opened his Bible on the couch and talked about it.

“Unsung Hero” star Lev explained, “There is such a gentle voice behind it, with a lot of wisdom.”
“And he looked at us, and asked me personally, straight, and then asked Val, “Have you ever done everything you can? Are there any steps in grace? Are there a little more grace?”
Candice remembers Lev asking her before questioning her father.
“And Val, is there any more blessings that you can give to your mom? There’s another kindness, another gesture, another ounce of kindness.
“I mean, we left that and Val and I said, ‘Um. We’ve raised some pretty good kids.”
“It was on our faces, but it seemed like a pivotal moment,” Candice added. “After that story, it really changed for us, and there was a lot more to it. But when your kids sit and go talk you, you know it’s a completely different scenario, “Are you as mature as you can?”

Candice said she was “very grateful” for her children, and noted that they “are very supportive of everything.”

“But I didn’t expect there would be a day when I would listen like an 18-year-old or a 20-year-old,” she said.
Candice was joined by Rev, pastor and writer Jonathan Pokkuldah on an episode of the podcast. rear actress Sharing her story, Pokkulda asks Rev if he is “tened” during his interactions with his parents.
“Not,” he said. “I think it came from the point of love, and even when my brother and I talked about it, “We might want our parents more than anything to be together, but in reality it only happens through Jesus.”
“And so, that was everything we could point to them.”

Candice and Valeri met in 1994 after her “Full House” co-stars Dave Courier We introduced future couples in a charity hockey game. The two announced their engagement in June 1995 and tied the knot a year later.

On June 22nd, Candace paid tribute to Valeri on its 29th anniversary with Instagram. She posted a photo of the pair’s throwbacks, explaining that the snap was filmed on her first date at Valeri’s practice link in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
“We raised a beautiful family,” she wrote in pink heart emojis. “An eternally happy anniversary to my love and best friend.”

Lev became the first child to marry in January 2024 when he and Elliot Dunham tied the knot. At the time, Candice celebrated the couple’s wedding with an Instagram post.

“We cannot express the joy we felt this weekend as we celebrate the marriage of our son and his bride Elliot,” she wrote along with her wedding photo. “We have won a beautiful daughter and an amazing family.
“I have overwhelming love, joy, peace and satisfaction thanks to God’s blessing of family and friendship,” she added. “My heart is very full.”
