Cleveland Browns Rookie minicamp began on Friday, with rookie quarterbacks Dilongabriel and Chedure Sanders taking the field for the first time.
Gabriel was selected in the third round, Sanders After an unprecedented slide, it was chosen in the fifth round. Gabriel received his first snap of the day, but head coach Kevin Stefanski warned him of reading it too much.

“If you look at the whole weekend, you can go through the spring, meaning you don’t pay too much attention to who’s in that first snap.”
Stefanski said he thought “both did a good job,” but he wasn’t committed to who gets the first snap at practice on Saturday.
The Browns head coach emphasized that he “sees too much” when he received his first snap.

“There’s a lot of time between now and September, so there’s a plan. But it’s a comprehensive assessment. It’s not just based on the practicers. There’s a lot to it,” Stefanski said.
The Browns have five quarterbacks on their roster, and the starter for week one is not clear. Desshaun Watson After undergoing surgery with the same tendon in October 2024, his Achilles tendon burst again in January, making his position for next season questionable.

The Browns acquired Kenny Pickett through trade Philadelphia Eagles Before the NFL Draft, he signed a one-year contract with Joe Flacco. It’s still not clear who will get a first week nod with the addition of Gabriel and Sanders to the already packed quarterback room.
