Former San Jose State women’s volleyball player Brooke Slisser responded Monday after Fox News Digital reported Mountain West Conference They hired the same law firm to investigate allegations of misconduct by transgender athlete Brook Fleming, which the conference used to defend athletes’ eligibility for conference tournaments in court.
Slisser was at the centre of suspicions in a plot plot involving Fleming and a Colorado player to hurt her during the game. Fox News Digital previously reported that Mountain West had hired the company Willkie Farr & Gallagher (WFG) to investigate the allegations.
Mountain West hired the company to process the investigation in the same month to protect the eligibility of Fleming and to protect requests for preliminary injunctions for women to be disqualified from competition and conference tournaments.

The investigation was closed three days later, and Fleming was ruled out of fraud. However, there was no evidence revealed by the conference as Fleming finished the season, earned all conference honors and led SJSU to the Mountain West Championship Game.
As seen in the public records obtained by Fox News Digital, WFG attorneys who investigated the allegations against Fleming’s Tim Heaffee later offered to the school’s attorneys to help them navigate the federal Title IX investigation in the same situation. The offer was rejected.
Slusser spoke about recent findings that appeared on Fox News Channel’s “The US reports.”
“When this is made public, it’s clear that there’s a huge amount of bias in this situation and they’re just trying to clean these things under the rug and don’t have to deal with them when there’s obvious issues going on throughout the place,” she said.

“Title IX was built to protect women, so they must use the same law firm and be responsible for not conducting thorough investigations. They decide to protect men in this situation when they are blatantly harming female athletes at school.
Slusser ultimately hopes that other female athletes will have to deal with the same things she has experienced.
“The goal is not to have another female athlete pass what I did. My senior season ruined the sport,” she said. “So the goal is to give back to a young girl who had the same dreams I did, but who would allow me to love it forever.”
None of the WFG lawyers have been accused of violating applicable professional conduct rules.
William Bock, the lawyer leading the lawsuit against SJSU and Mountain West on behalf of 11 current or former female athletes at conferences, opposed the meeting early Monday.
